.SH DESCRIPTION
.sp
.LP
The \fBmlib_ImageDilate8()\fR function performs a dilation operation on an image by using all eight of each pixel's neighbors. The source and destination images must be single-channel images. The data type can be \fBMLIB_BIT\fR, \fBMLIB_BYTE\fR, \fBMLIB_SHORT\fR, \fBMLIB_USHORT\fR, or \fBMLIB_INT\fR.
.sp
.LP
For 8-neighbor binary images, it uses the following equation:
.sp
.in +2
.nf
dst[x][y][0] = OR{ src[p][q][0],
                   x-1 \(<= p \(<= x+1; y-1 \(<= q \(<= y+1 }
.fi
.in -2

For 8-neighbor grayscale images, it uses the following equation:
.sp
.in +2
.nf
dst[x][y][0] = MAX{ src[p][q][0],
                    x-1 \(<= p \(<= x+1; y-1 \(<= q \(<= y+1 }
